Dance!

If you know me, you know that dance is a huge part of my life.  I am now into my twelfth year of dance, and I have been dancing since I was two years old. I started out in a "Mommy and Me" dance class, where my mom had to dance with me.  The next year I started doing classes without my mom.  However, after two years of dance, I quit at a fairly young age.  Although, after a year of being away from it, I knew I couldn't live without it.  Two years after that, I then tried out for the dance team at my studio.  I have now been apart of a dance team for six years. I have competed and auditioned at many different competitions in many different places.  In fact, I was asked to start teaching at my dance studio this last fall.  So now, I am not only on the Sr. Elite dance team, but I am also teaching to classes of my own.  Teaching dance is very fun, I love seeing these young kids every week loving to dance, knowing I was once just like them.  My dance life as come very far for me in these past 12 years, and I'm very excited to travel to Orlando, Florida for Dance Nationals this summer.

Cheaters Never Win!

This is actually quite a hard topic.  I actually think it is a topic that goes along with pure pressure.  I'd like to say if my friend was cheating I would tell the teacher, but with previous incidents of this, I haven't.  I think when you're caught in the moment you really won't do that.  I have seen many people cheating, on tests and so forth.  But I don't want to get involved in that, and I don't think it is my place to do so.

Harlem Shake!

There really is no exact question as to "why" people do the Harlem Shake.  It is basically just something to do for laughs and giggles.  The Harlem shake first started in Harlem in 1981.  However the a new version of a song was created in 2012 by Baauer.  Soon after that, videos of random dancing were made to the videos in early 2013.  I don't really think its actually "funny," however the actual part that is funny about it is how somebody may dance in the video.  I probably would participate in a Harlem Shake, just for the the fun of it, and because I like to dance.  I don't think the Harlem Shake is actually that cool, just because there's no talent behind it.

Testing!

Testing, a word that no student wants to hear.  Something that I dread completely.  I feel like it is really uncalled for to be tested on the past 13 years on my education.  I'm not going to remember everything after not going over it for so many years, and especially not in a test format.  I think education relies to heavily on testing.  I have always gotten good grades in school and maintain a good gpa, but I personally don't do as well on tests.  I think there should be tests, throughout the classrooms, that way teachers know that we understand the content.  However, standardized testing that pretty much makes or breaks your future, like the ACT is ridiculous!  I think their could be a "fair" test for everyone according to the school and the classes in which a student has taken.  But it is too difficult for the state to do that.  I have done fairly average on my testing, but not as well as I have wanted.  I don't think my test scores reflect the student I am in school.  Therefore, I consider myself as one who doesn't do well on tests.
