Well, I don't really mind blogging. It just depends on the topic. I never have blogged before this class, therefore, I just blog when I am told too. I think I could blog on my own, but I probably wouldn't en up actually doing it. I think people who blog for money are cool. Hey, if that's something they like to do, then props to them. No, I don't read other blogs. My experiences in this classroom are some good and some bad. We blogged every Monday, which was pretty neat. I disliked all the many time-consuming projects we had to do in short periods of time. However, some of the projects were fun. Like the movies we made, and some of the pictures we took, and learning Photoshop. But I wish we would've done more group projects.

Month of May!
I think someone set up different things to celebrate each month to give you hope and something to look forward too. After all, you look at Christmas and Halloween and Valentine's Day, people look forward to those, and remember all the things they are thankful for during those days. So I think that someone did this so that everyday they have something to remember and be thankful for. Some other things we celebrate in the month of May are Loyalty Day, Cinco de Mayo, Nurses Day, Mothers Day, Batman Day, and Star Wards Day. One thing I would like to celebrate this month is my best friend. My best friend happens to be my boyfriend, and he's been there for me for a lot these last couple months, and I am so thankful for it. We should celebrate it by simply spending time together and going on a cute date.

Topic of My Choice!
My Weekend
My weekend started out Friday night. I started my Friday night catching up on sleep by taking a nice long nap. Three hours later, I was woke up by my boyfriend. Then Brandon, my dad, my sister, and I went out to eat at Fiesta Ranchero. After we ate, I went home and just relaxed and worked on a chemistry extra credit project. The following day, I went to a house viewing to see a house my dad might be moving into. I then went out to eat at my favorite restaurant, El Chaps, with Brandon. After we ate, we went to go see Iron Man 3 with my best friend and her boyfriend. It was a pretty good movie. The next day was Mother's Day, however, it was my dad's weekend. So, I went to the Bard Restaurant at Sauder's Village and ate dinner with my whole dad's side of the family. It was delicious! I later went to my Mom's house and spent some time with her. I gave her a gift card to Barrett's so she could by some flowers to plant at her new house. Overall it was a laid back but fun weekend.

Cinco de Mayo!
Happy Cinco de Mayo! Cinco de Mayo is a traditional Mexican holiday. It is a day that Mexicans celebrate their independence and freedom. It is a day that a long, long time ago the Mexican army beat the French in a city called Puebla. This marked a historic event because even though they didn't win the war, Mexicans did win this battle as underdogs to the French. This day gave the Mexicans hope. Everyone should celebrate this holiday, it is a remarkable event. I do believe it should become a national holiday.
National No Homework Day!? I didn't even know there was such a day. I'm not sure who decided National No Homework Day, but whoever it was was a genius! I think it is a great idea. I plan on spending National No Homework Day, by just relaxing with no homework.

Prom!
I think prom is remarkable. Prom is something that even as a little girl you can't way too go to. I do think that prom is somewhat expensive after all the stuff you do to prepare for it, however, it is a once in a lifetime thing, you won't ever get to go to another prom after your senior year; it is something that you will remember forever. I thought prom was really fun, I never even noticed any drama. There wasn't exactly one best moment of the evening, it was all fun just being able to get to spend time with my boyfriend and friends. Everything was fun, from taking cute pictures, to eating at Olive Garden, to dancing at prom, and all the fun activities at after prom. I do think it is important to go to prom, not so much your junior year, but your senior year. It is a high school memory you'll always remember. BOTH prom and after prom, because of course it's always nice getting all dolled up ;)

Earth Day!
Happy Earth Day! To me, Earth Day means that is a day we can give back to our environment. I don't recall ever participating in an actual event for Earth Day, I have done stuff for our environment, but not on Earth Day. Earth day was founded by Senator Gaylord Nelson in 1970 to promote ecology. Earth Day occurs during the time of the March equinox. Earth Day Networks estimates that 500 million people from 4,500 organizations in 180 countries will participate in Earth Day, in some way, shape, or form. On Earth Day, you can plant trees, recycle, donate to garage sales, clean up litter, ride your bike, and learn more about the earth and what you can do to help. Earth Day is a great day to give back to the environment! Monday, April 15, 2013
Violence on TV!
I think the amount of violence on TV is a little much. I do think it would be a better idea to have those shows only come on say after 10 pm. That way younger children aren't exposed to such visual action and what not. I do not watch violent TV shows myself, I really don't like those shows and they somewhat scare me. I think TV shows have so much violence because they are considered "cool," and that is the only way a show will get views. One show that I think has too much violence is the Walking Dead. I don't like the show myself, but my boyfriend and friends watch it and always talk about it. However, the one time that I had seen it, I thought it was way to visual with violence. I think 15 years or older should be the age limit on the show.

Spring Break!
My spring break was actually pretty boring, I never really did anything exciting. I guess overall, the most exciting thing I did was babysit. I babysat my two cousins and my sister. I babysat my one year old cousin, Brady, my five year old cousin, Toree, and my 10 year old sister, Carli. Three kids seems like a lot for one person, but I was very glad my sister was such a big help. I woke up at 7:30 in the morning and drove to my Aunt's house. We started the day by eating breakfast and watching TV, we also made crafts and colored ALOT. Toree, however had to go in time out quite a bit, it definitely wasn't her day. So most of the day, I heard Brady laughing in his cute little baby voice, and Toree throwing a temper tantrum. We ate princess spaghettios and grilled cheese. Then after lunch, Brandon came over to visit, and we went and played outside for a bit. After that, we came back inside and took naps. When my Aunt came home, I left and just finished my day by going to my dance solo practice, and then watching movies with my boyfriend.

Dance!
If you know me, you know that dance is a huge part of my life. I am now into my twelfth year of dance, and I have been dancing since I was two years old. I started out in a "Mommy and Me" dance class, where my mom had to dance with me. The next year I started doing classes without my mom. However, after two years of dance, I quit at a fairly young age. Although, after a year of being away from it, I knew I couldn't live without it. Two years after that, I then tried out for the dance team at my studio. I have now been apart of a dance team for six years. I have competed and auditioned at many different competitions in many different places. In fact, I was asked to start teaching at my dance studio this last fall. So now, I am not only on the Sr. Elite dance team, but I am also teaching to classes of my own. Teaching dance is very fun, I love seeing these young kids every week loving to dance, knowing I was once just like them. My dance life as come very far for me in these past 12 years, and I'm very excited to travel to Orlando, Florida for Dance Nationals this summer.

Cheaters Never Win!
This is actually quite a hard topic. I actually think it is a topic that goes along with pure pressure. I'd like to say if my friend was cheating I would tell the teacher, but with previous incidents of this, I haven't. I think when you're caught in the moment you really won't do that. I have seen many people cheating, on tests and so forth. But I don't want to get involved in that, and I don't think it is my place to do so.

Harlem Shake!
There really is no exact question as to "why" people do the Harlem Shake. It is basically just something to do for laughs and giggles. The Harlem shake first started in Harlem in 1981. However the a new version of a song was created in 2012 by Baauer. Soon after that, videos of random dancing were made to the videos in early 2013. I don't really think its actually "funny," however the actual part that is funny about it is how somebody may dance in the video. I probably would participate in a Harlem Shake, just for the the fun of it, and because I like to dance. I don't think the Harlem Shake is actually that cool, just because there's no talent behind it.

Testing!
Testing, a word that no student wants to hear. Something that I dread completely. I feel like it is really uncalled for to be tested on the past 13 years on my education. I'm not going to remember everything after not going over it for so many years, and especially not in a test format. I think education relies to heavily on testing. I have always gotten good grades in school and maintain a good gpa, but I personally don't do as well on tests. I think there should be tests, throughout the classrooms, that way teachers know that we understand the content. However, standardized testing that pretty much makes or breaks your future, like the ACT is ridiculous! I think their could be a "fair" test for everyone according to the school and the classes in which a student has taken. But it is too difficult for the state to do that. I have done fairly average on my testing, but not as well as I have wanted. I don't think my test scores reflect the student I am in school. Therefore, I consider myself as one who doesn't do well on tests.

Top Four
I have a lot of important thing in my life, so it is really hard to narrow it down to just four. However, they're four things that really don't think I could live without.
1. My family. No matter what happens in the world, I know I can always count on my family. They are the only people who have been there since day one. Although we have hit a few bumps in the road lately, I know they still love me as much as I love them.
2. My boyfriend. I know, pretty cheesy.. But it's true. Brandon is more than just my boyfriend, he is honestly my best friend. He always can put a smile on my face, and he is one of the only people who I can be my actual self around. We spend so much of our time together and never get bored.
3. Dance. This is what I consider my backbone in life, it is what keeps me sane. I danced ever since the age of two and its always been a part of me. After everything I've been trough, I can always count on dance to take my mind off things And take the stress away.
4. My house. I have lived in my house forever, it's the only house I've ever known. My house gives me a home, and a place to keep me protected. I have so many memories within my house. Sometimes I used to take having a house for granted. But now I know that there's people surviving on the streets. My house is what keeps my family and I safe.

President
The President in which I think had the greatest impact, was Abraham Lincoln. I think it would have to be Abraham Lincoln because he was known as honest Abe, and you don't really hear about too much of people being honest. So, having someone who known as being honest running your country is a good thing to have. Abe also had a big part in helping to end slavery. Abe also made the hard decision to keep fighting in the Civil War until Confederacy was defeated. I think the hardest part about being President is all the stress that comes with it. The decisions that the President is required to make are big decisions, and not everyone will be happy with the decision. I would never want to be the President, just because I don't do good under stress, and I don't like making decisions. If I did have to run for President though, my campaign slogan would be: "Don't be sassy, Vote for Cassy!" The main pitch for my campaign would be to care more for the needy. So many people take what they have for granted, when others have nothing. I hope to provide more of them with food, shelter, and health care. I would also help give more protection to schools and their safety requirements. Tuesday, February 12, 2013
Traveling Anywhere.
They're many places I would love to travel too; not only in the U.S. but all over the world as well. IIt is hard picking just one place to travel too. I guess, would pick to go to Greece. I would chose to go to Greece because a movie I once watched was filmed in Greece, and it was beautiful! The water looked clearer and bluer than ever! Plus, the buildings look very unique. The weather is probably a lot nicer than it is here anyways. Greece would definitely be a neat place to visit.
Charity Event!
If I had an extra $100,000 to give away, they're many places I would wish I could send it too. However, as of right now the number one place I would give it to is my parents. I would give $50,000 to my mom and $50,000 to my dad. I would do this because they recently have decided to get a divorce. And because of this, one of my parents alone can't afford my house. So it is being put up for sale. Therefore, I could give my mom $50,000 so she could keep the house which I live in now, and I would give my dad the other $50,000 so he could buy or build a house of his own. I have seen how much of a toll this has taken on the both of them, and I really think this would help. That's what I would do if I had $100,000 to give away.

I want out of here!
I want out of here! Definitely, due to all the stress and everything going on in my life right now, the first thing that comes to my mind is "I need a break, and to get out of here!" The best place to go would be the beach, of course! I would go to the beach, because that is probably my favorite place in the world. At the beach, I always feel so relaxed. I hear the calm waves, the hot sun on my skin, and the warm sand on my skin. The beach is just absolutely peaceful, and really helps to get my mind off things. I would do anything to be at the beach right now!

Bug Out!
If I were a bug, I would be a butterfly. I would be a butterfly, because they are actually pretty, unlike many other bugs. Also, it would be very cool to fly! Butterflies are even more cool, because by being a butterfly, you get the best of both worlds, because you would first get to be a catapillar first, which might be cool. But then, I could then I could curl up into a cacoon and sleep for a long time, and no one would bother me. And then bang! I would grow my beautiful wings, and fly!Monday, January 14, 2013

Vacation Time!
Who doesn't love vacation time? Vacation time is always nice, especially when things are starting to get stressful. My time off was very good! It was definitely much needed, and helped me relax. Basically the whole break I hung out with my boyfriend and family. We pretty much just caught up on sleep and watched movies. I had a lot of family Christmas's to attend between my family and Brandon's family. So we attended all the Christmas parties as well. I went shopping one day, with my friend Emma. Then I went shopping again with Brandon. For Christmas, I mostly just got clothes and gift cards because I really didn't ask for anything this year. However, Brandon did get me a Keruig coffee maker, which comes in very handy. I did not go sledding, it is just too cold for me. I didn't really make any specific resolution for the new year because I never stick to them. However, I think I will just use this new year to better myself, and I would hope I could do that. Overall, I loved break and I definitely dreaded it ending!
